Donald Trump Surpasses Harris On Polymarket Once Again
Early in August, Harris had the advantage over Trump, and although the betting odds were tied last month, they moved in Trump's favor over the weekend.
Election wagerers on Polymarket are once again leaning toward Republican nominee Donald Trump, while Democrat Kamala Harris' odds decreased from even to 47% during the weekend.
The likelihood that Trump will win in November rose to 71% in July and then fell to 44% in August after incumbent Joe Biden declared he would not run before Harris was declared the nominee. By early to mid-August, her odds had increased to over 55%, making her the clear favorite.
Trump's popularity has steadily increased back over 50% among traders on Polymarket, while Harris' has dwindled over the past few weeks. He is once again leading after odds of even for almost two weeks.
Traders' on-chain wagers on Trump's winning the election have totaled $99 million, with over $95 million going to Harris.
Harris' chances of winning have decreased due to criticism of a plan to tax unrealized profits for those wealthy with more than $100 million. However, Trump is promoting a future decentralized financial initiative that would provide cryptocurrency users with “high yields”, which has improved his chances of winning.
