Biden Hiring Meme Master for 2024 Campaign
President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign is looking for a meme expert to attract Gen Z voters.
The Biden for President (BFP) campaign posted a job for a “Partner Manager.” This person will handle “day-to-day operations in engaging the internet’s top content and meme pages.”
Biden’s team will pay the meme manager, based in Wilmington, Delaware, between $65,000 to $85,000 a year. This salary is slightly above the average pay for digital marketers in the U.S., according to Indeed.
The main job of the Biden memes is to manage relationships with digital media companies, podcasters, and “meme pages” on various social media platforms.
Biden’s team has used memes before. They embraced the “Dark Brandon” laser eyes meme in early 2022 to make the 81-year-old seem internet-savvy.
In February, Biden talked about the Dark Brandon meme on Seth Meyers’ Late Night show. He jokingly said, “I resent the hell out of it,” before putting on dark aviator sunglasses.
Biden wore the sunglasses again and mentioned the meme to cheers from the audience at the April White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
This move is part of Biden’s efforts to connect with younger voters.
Many Democrats have also changed their views on crypto. This shift seems to follow Donald Trump’s support for it as he tries to win votes.
Trump is also familiar with memes. His August 2023 mugshot went viral after he was processed at Fulton County Jail for his fourth indictment.
His campaign quickly started selling T-shirts, mugs, and other items with the mugshot. They also released a “MugShot” nonfungible token (NFT) collection in December.
In early May, the Trump-themed MAGA memecoin gained popularity after his pro-crypto comments.
