Bitcoin Price Dips Amid Rising US Bond Yields and Macroeconomic Headwinds

Bitcoin experienced a decline exceeding 1.6% on Friday, with its price correction accelerating following the opening of Wall Street. This downward pressure on Bitcoin's value was attributed to multiple macroeconomic factors.

Macroeconomic Factors and Market Reaction

Rising US bond yields contributed to a more hawkish outlook regarding Federal Reserve interest rate adjustments. Data from TradingView indicated that BTC/USD approached $64,000 as efforts to sustain recent gains proved challenging for bulls. Geopolitical tensions and broader macroeconomic headwinds diminished investor appetite for risk assets, impacting crypto markets. Mosaic Asset Company identified increasing US Treasury yields as a primary driver of the sell-off. The price of bitcoin is influenced by various factors, including macroeconomic trends and investor sentiment.

Trader Analysis and Market Outlook

Mosaic highlighted the two-year yield's particular influence on the Federal Reserve's interest-rate decisions. Risk assets face adverse effects from potential rate increases. The firm observed that the two-year yield, which often precedes federal funds rates, reached 4.31%, surpassing the Federal Reserve's target range. Current data from CME Group's FedWatch Tool suggested markets anticipated the Fed would maintain current rates in the upcoming week.

Markets are pricing in a 0.25% hike in September, one of two projected increases before the end of 2026. Mosaic added that these expectations were exerting downward pressure on stock indexes.
