Bitcoin Reaches $65,000 Amid Geopolitical Tensions and Rising Bond Yields

Bitcoin (BTC) reached $65,000 following Tuesday's Wall Street open, as United States equities recovered despite geopolitical tensions. This marked the first time Bitcoin had touched this price point since August 10, occurring as risk assets navigated new signals regarding US-Iran relations.

Data from TradingView showed BTC/USD building on weekly gains, while the S&P 500 rebounded from 7,696, its lowest level since August 4. Analysis indicated surging US 30-year bond yields, which had reached 29-year highs of 5.34%.

Geopolitical Tensions and Market Divergence

Bitcoin‘s price analysis suggested a critical juncture for a potential head-and-shoulders bottoming structure. Bitcoin demonstrated a divergence from US stocks as former President Donald Trump commented on the status of the Strait of Hormuz. Both the US and Iran assert control over Hormuz, and Trump had previously indicated potential military action against Oman concerning its plans to collaborate with Iran on shipping tolls.

In a subsequent post, Trump affirmed that further diplomatic discussions with Iran were not planned, stating that the Naval Blockade remained in effect and the Strait of Hormuz was operational, with all water mines removed or detonated. Oil prices remained relatively stable, with WTI crude down 1% at $84 per barrel.

Bitcoin Price Analysis and Future Outlook

Regarding BTC/USD, analyst Aksel Kibar observed the culmination of a potential reverse head-and-shoulders pattern at $62,300. Kibar suggested that if a rebound were to occur, it would need to originate from this level. He projected a target of $53,000 if the head-and-shoulders structure failed, with a potential upside target of $76,000 if the rebound sustained.

Previously, reports indicated that underwater investors were contributing to Bitcoin's inability to break higher. Its rebound to $64,500 also fell short of an overhead trend line, the 50-month exponential moving average (EMA), which currently acts as resistance at $65,827.
