Donald Trump Jr. Calls Crypto the Future of America’s Economic Power

Donald Trump Jr. surprisedly visited the Ondo Summit in New York City on Thursday. He spoke about how he believes cryptocurrency is the future of America's economic strength.

“I think crypto could be the future of America's global influence, especially in terms of our economy and financial power,” he said.

His unexpected appearance happened after World Liberty Financial (WLF), a crypto company linked to the Trump family, bought Ondo's cryptocurrency (ONDO) earlier that day.

Trump Jr. also talked about the need for clear rules for crypto in the U.S. “We need a system where crypto can grow and thrive without too much control from people who don't understand it,” he explained.

Chase Herro, a co-founder of WLF, mentioned that the company plans to launch a “strategic reserve” of crypto assets soon. He also said, “We love building things in this space.”

Recently, World Liberty Financial has invested in several well-known cryptocurrencies, including Ethereum (ETH), Wrapped Bitcoin (wBTC), Tron (TRX), AAVE, and Chainlink (LINK). On Thursday, WLF bought around $470,000 worth of ONDO tokens, just after Ondo Finance announced plans to create Ondo Chain, a new blockchain for tokenized assets.

Earlier today, Trump’s social media company revealed its plans to launch exchange-traded funds (ETFs). One of these funds is called Truth. Fi Bitcoin Plus ETF will be tied to the price of Bitcoin (BTC).

Many experts see crypto adoption growing in the U.S., especially as traditional financial institutions explore blockchain technology. At the same time, political discussions around crypto regulation continue to heat up. If leaders like Trump Jr. push for lighter regulations, it could encourage more investment in the space. Others argue that without clear rules, crypto markets remain volatile.

Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other major cryptocurrencies have recently increased, partly due to institutional interest and ETF developments. If more companies follow the tokenized assets model like Ondo Finance, 2024, and beyond, they could see a boom in blockchain-based finance.
