Jupiter DEX Integrates On-Chain Trading for Graded Collectible Pokémon and One Piece Cards
Jupiter, a decentralized exchange on Solana, has introduced a new platform for trading authenticated, graded Pokémon and One Piece cards. These physical cards are fully on-chain and can be traded directly on the Jupiter DEX. The initiative, named Jupiter Gacha, is currently in its beta phase. Users can acquire random packs containing these graded cards, each authenticated, sealed, and assigned an on-chain token to facilitate trading. One Piece is a prominent trading card franchise, comparable in popularity to Pokémon. The exchange indicated that these are the same types of cards that collectors have pursued for years, now available for trading on Jupiter. The introduction of Jupiter, a significant Solana DEX, into the tokenized collectibles market may enhance the legitimacy of this asset class. This follows Jupiter's recent collaboration with Securitize for the deployment of regulated tokenized equities on Solana. The increasing interest in on-chain trading of real-world collectibles could stimulate growth in other categories, such as sports cards, luxury goods, and watches. Other platforms, including Collector Crypt and Courtyard, also engage in the trading of tokenized Pokémon cards. Trading activity for tokenized Pokémon cards saw a notable increase in May, coinciding with the franchise's 30th anniversary. An executive at OpenSea previously suggested that tokenized Pokémon cards could reignite interest in non-fungible tokens, following a decline in their popularity since 2021–2022.
