Visa Expands Stablecoin Payout Capabilities with Zerohash Integration
Visa has expanded its stablecoin payment services through a collaboration with Zerohash, a crypto infrastructure provider. This partnership enables eligible Visa Direct clients to prefund accounts and process payouts using stablecoins.
Zerohash announced on Wednesday that these new functionalities would be accessible via Visa Direct, Visa's money movement network. The CEO of Zerohash, Edward Woodford, indicated that enabling stablecoin applications at the core network level would accelerate global adoption.

This integration allows businesses to fund Visa Direct accounts with stablecoins before initiating payments, offering enhanced liquidity management beyond traditional banking hours. Recipients also gain the option to receive payouts directly in stablecoins, bypassing conversion to local fiat currencies.
Zerohash, established in 2017, provides crypto infrastructure for financial institutions. The company applied for a national trust bank charter in March to broaden its custody and settlement operations. In July, it facilitated Morgan Stanley's introduction of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana trading on E*Trade.
Visa's Broader Stablecoin Strategy
This development is the latest in Visa's engagement with the stablecoin sector. Earlier in January, Visa partnered with BVNK for a pilot program involving stablecoin prefunding and payouts on Visa Direct. In July, the company launched the Visa Stablecoin Platform, providing banks and fintechs with tools for issuing, holding, and transferring stablecoins, integrating them into existing treasury and payment systems.
Mark Nelsen, Visa's global head of product, stated that stablecoins are creating new avenues for faster and more flexible money movement, especially for cross-border transactions. He added that collaborating with Zerohash helps scale stablecoin capabilities for clients, ensuring reliability and interoperability with current financial systems.
