XRP Exchange Inflows Exceed 6 Billion Tokens in 30 Days
XRP recently saw a significant surge in XRP exchange inflows, reaching a seven-month high with over 6 billion tokens deposited within the last 30 days. This substantial increase was highlighted by CryptoQuant, an on-chain analytics platform, which noted that the 30-day rolling average of inflows totaled 6.05 billion XRP by October 19.
This figure represents a doubling of inflows since mid-August, a period during which XRP‘s price climbed from approximately $1 to $1.70 before stabilizing around $1.30. The increased inflows suggest a shift in asset movement towards exchanges, potentially indicating heightened trading activity and liquidity, or a rise in transfers between wallets and exchanges.
Whale Activity and Market Sentiment
Despite the surge in XRP inflows, interest from large-volume investors, known as whales, in the XRP/USDT pair has diminished. The 90-day moving average of whale outflows has fallen to $49.7 million, marking its lowest level in five years. This figure represents a 98.6% decrease from its peak of $3.5 billion in February 2025, which occurred shortly after XRP reached its all-time high of $3.40.
Analysts at CryptoQuant suggested that this lack of whale support could indicate insufficient buying volume for XRP from a long-term perspective. However, they also acknowledged XRP's resilience during the 2026 crypto bear market. The platform posited that large investors might be awaiting more favorable prices before increasing their exposure to the asset.
Bitcoin Investor Behavior
In a related development, Bitcoin investors also showed reduced activity in October, as BTC/USD traded within a range of $80,000 to $87,000. Glassnode, another crypto analytics platform, reported a decrease in profit-taking among Bitcoin investors in its Market Pulse bulletin.
The realized profit/loss ratio for Bitcoin dropped by 50% over the past week, moving from 0.8 to 0.4. Glassnode attributed this to a cooling of profit realization relative to loss realization on-chain, signaling a transition to more subdued market sentiment and less aggressive spending by participants.
