Bitmine Reports $45.7 Million in Q2 Ethereum Staking Revenue
Bitmine Immersion Technologies reported significant revenue from Ether staking and validation, totaling $45.7 million in the last quarter. This follows the launch of its institutional Ethereum staking platform in March, with staking revenue constituting 98% of the total revenue for the three months ending May 31.
The company stated it had staked 85% of its ETH holdings, approximately 4.9 million Ether, and projected annualized ETH staking rewards could reach $284 million once fully staked. This marks a substantial shift from the previous year, when total revenue was only $2 million, primarily from machine leasing. MAVAN Platform and Robinhood Chain Performance
The MAVAN platform, an acronym for “Made in America VAlidator Network,” was developed after the acquisition of Pier Two Holdings, an Australia-based non-custodial validator operator. Initially designed to support Bitmine's Ethereum treasury, its scope was broadened to include institutional investors, custodians, and ecosystem partners.
The chairman also noted the performance of the recently launched Robinhood Chain, with dollar volumes exceeding $1 billion since its July 1 launch. He described Robinhood Chain as having more trading volume than any other decentralized exchange, highlighting the utility of Ethereum as its underlying chain.
Ethereum's Role in Robinhood Chain
Robinhood Chain utilizes ETH as its native gas token, with transaction fees denominated in ETH and finality settled on Ethereum. The chairman observed that Robinhood's 27 million users are paying crypto fees in ETH, suggesting that everyday users are beginning to perceive ETH as a form of currency. This indicates a growing mainstream acceptance and utility of Ethereum beyond its traditional roles.
