Aptos rolls out Encrypted Mempool to curb frontrunning, sandwich attacks
The Aptos Layer-1 blockchain has launched an optional Encrypted Mempool feature to protect traders from maximal extractable value (MEV) attacks, including frontrunning and sandwich attacks. This system encrypts transaction details until block ordering is finalized, preventing bots from exploiting pending orders. While offering enhanced security, it introduces higher gas fees and minor processing delays. Aptos's approach integrates decryption with existing validators, distinguishing it from other MEV protection solutions.
